BROCKVILLE, Ontario – Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands picks a winner of Garden Shed and Gardening Implements Raffle.

It’s official, Jennifer Armstrong from North Gower was randomly selected on August 2nd 2022 in Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands ReStore as the winner of the Sheds of Junetown gardening shed raffle.  The gardening shed package comes complete with Ryobi electric lawn mower, gardening cart, bird bath, gardening urn filled with plants, 2 garden gift certificates, his and hers gardening gloves and a vast array of gardening tools.

“This is our first official fundraiser outside of what our ReStores market and it has been an eye-opener,” said Angela Campbell, Manager of Fundraising and Community Connections. “The community of Leeds Grenville has been so generous and we could not have asked for more support. Our hats go off to everyone for their sponsorship of our cause.”

During COVID the Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands and Kemptville ReStores remained closed for three months which severely impacted the ability to raise much needed funds to continue to build decent, affordable homes in Leeds Grenville. COVID coupled with the severe housing crisis in Canada had adversely affected the mission of Habitat for Humanity.

“We are hoping that we have turned the corner,” said Board Chair Bill Spencer. “Fundraisers like this shed raffle can make a very positive difference in our future.”

Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands has been serving the community of Leeds Grenville since 1998. During that time 19 families have benefitted from home ownership.
