This November 9th marks the 12 anniversary of Giving Tuesday, a day to give back without regard for what you get in return. At Habitat for Humanity 1000 Islands we see acts of kindness all around us. From the over 300 volunteer hours donated towards a house build to the volunteers who brave any weather to donate their time in our ReStore 6 days a week. Giving of their time and energy is what these people do proudly!

Almost daily people are busy donating furniture, construction materials, electrical and gas appliances and household items to Habitat for Humanity 1000 Islands Brockville ReStore. The shelves are stocked with nearly new articles as well as brand new goods. The Habitat for Humanity Brockville ReStore is especially busy right now with Christmas shoppers getting a jump start on their Christmas shopping. The place is bustling with energy and goodwill.

Many recognize our truck as it is constantly travelling to and from the ReStore picking up donated goods or delivering purchased goods to their new homes. Of tremendous value as well is that those who choose to purchase donations at Habitat for Humanity 1000 Islands Brockville Restore are contributing financially towards our next build. Purchasing from the Restore also ensures that our donations are being saved from being dumped into a landfill.

Giving once again on Giving Tuesday when the world recognizes and applauds acts of generosity has never been more important. Giving of time and talent on a build site, donating efforts to work in The Habitat for Humanity 1000 Islands ReStore, donating household goods or making financial donations are ways of contributing to make our communities stronger.

Please consider a gift to Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands in whatever way you can because kindness is a language we can all understand.
